Progressive Climate Foundation and Pure Sky Commit to Advancing Local Carbon Project in Pakistan

Islamabad, Pakistan — February 3, 2026 — Pure Sky Registry LLC (“Pure Sky”), a U.S.-based carbon credit registry dedicated to high-integrity carbon credits, and Progressive Climate Foundation (“PCF”), a Pakistan-based non-profit organization advancing sustainable development, have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) to collaborate on the development and certification of climate-positive initiatives rooted in regenerative agriculture.
The LOI reflects PCF’s intention to register a large-scale, science-based carbon project that aggregates more than 100 farms across Pakistan implementing verified sustainable land-management practices. By bringing together a diverse network of producers, the project aims to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture at a scale that would otherwise be unattainable, unlocking measurable climate benefits while strengthening rural livelihoods.
Through improved soil management, carbon-smart farming techniques, and ecosystem stewardship, the initiative seeks to generate high-quality carbon credits eligible for the international voluntary carbon market. These credits are intended to provide farmers with a new revenue stream, aligning economic resilience with measurable climate impact.
Pure Sky will support the project through its carbon registry platform, providing technical services for project review, validation, and approval in alignment with internationally recognized ISO-consistent carbon accounting principles. Project evaluation will be conducted through Pure Sky’s member-driven expert framework to ensure scientific rigor, transparency, and environmental integrity.
Upon approval by Pure Sky’s registry members, verified carbon credits will be issued on a secure digital ledger, forming the final stage of the certification process. This approach is designed to enhance traceability, prevent double counting, and ensure the long-term integrity and responsible management of carbon credit inventories.
Tawseef Khan, President and CEO of Progressive Climate Foundation, commented: “Our mission is to empower communities to take meaningful climate action grounded in science and stewardship. Partnering with Pure Sky enables us to scale regenerative agriculture, reward farmers for climate-positive outcomes, and connect Pakistan’s agricultural sector to global carbon markets in a transparent and credible way.”
Together, Pure Sky and PCF aim to demonstrate how scientifically robust carbon markets can catalyze regenerative agriculture, strengthen food systems, and contribute to global climate goals, while placing farmers and communities at the center of climate solutions.
